When it comes to cleaning your finest, my sister Milisa knows just the trick. These easy steps will keep your crystal and silver sparkling like new.

When cleaning crystal, simply fill a bowl with hot, soapy water and then dip your piece into it. Scrub it with a toothbrush and once it's clean, rinse it in hot water. To get it even more squeaky clean, rub the piece with a linen towel just before it is completely dry (an old trick of my Mom's).

When cleaning silver, add a sheet of crumpled aluminum foil to a bowl; fill it with hot water, a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of baking soda. Place your silver piece into the bowl and watch the instantaneous results. A strange brew, but it works like a charm!

*Keep in mind that any time you clean your silver you will inevitably take off a bit of the silver finish (unless it is sterling), so try to be really careful. Furthermore, if you want to protect your silver when it's not in use, simply wrap it in plastic wrap to keep the air away from it (it is oxygen that causes tarnish to build up in the first place).
