Quilting Bee Invitation |
|
I know, I know I'm just "sew" full of good ideas for creating invitations to your sewing party. Here is how to create a quilting bee invitation:
Supplies:
- matte board (readily available at any art supply store)
- fabric (*old, no longer useful napkins can work nicely)
- spray adhesive
- vellum (in any colour you choose)
- fabric daisies
- hot glue gun (you can also use white glue)
Method:
Cut matte board into a square-shape.
Cut fabric to a shape about one-half inch larger than the matte board, using a pair of scissors
Spray adhesive onto the fabric (*make sure you are in a well-ventilated area).
Bring up the sides of the fabric and attach them onto the board.
Cut vellum so that it fits neatly on the invitation.
With a pen, write "Quilting Bee," making tiny "x"'s so that each letter looks like it has been cross-stitched.
Attach vellum to matte board by gluing a daisy onto each corner.
Place invitation into an envelope and send. I just know that your friends will appreciate this wonderful inducement to sew!
